Mail

For 21 years I lived where mail was not delivered to your door. A trip to pick up mail from a PO mail box was the alternative, but not quite so exciting as hearing mail plop through the letter box. Now I’m back I’m fedup of that door letter box. This morning it clanged 3 times; I picked up 11 pieces of junk mail advertising all the stuff I either have or don’t want and never a one thing to be opened with anticipation. Okay, it gives somebody a job to go round the houses shuving this stuff in boxes, where I’m sure it’s promptly picked up and dumped in the recycling bin. But, does it really have any results for the people/companies concerned. Sky or Virgin can surely afford what seems to be a waste of paper and time, but stuff from small local tradespeople, is it really worth the cost and effort?
